Area of Interest :  Ship production, Computational Weld Mechanics and Welding Technology, FRP Composite applications.

 

Career History & Experience

Retd. Professor, Department of Ocean Engineering & Naval Architecture, IIT Kharagpur. Joined Kharagpur as a member of Ocean Engineering & Naval Architecture faculty on Apr.1987 Superannuated on Nov.2017.

He was Dean of Students’ Affairs from Apr.2012 – Apr 2015.

He was posted as Managing Director of Science & Technology Entrepreneurs’ Park, IIT Kharagpur for the Dec.2004 to Oct.2007 as additional activities

He was Lecturer, Institute of Shipbuilding Technology, Vasco-da Gama, Goa from May 1986 to Apr.1987

He was Naval Architect, Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd. for a period of three years  graduation from IIT Kharagpur from Jul.1976 to Aug.1979.

Spent six years in Poland doing my Polish language and Ph.D studies from Sept.1979 to Dec.1985.

 

Research Projects

Undertaken several industrial consultancy as well as sponsored research projects involving techniques, weld distortion analysis, distortion control and mitigation as well as development of stir welding of marine grade aluminum alloys sponsored by various Govt. and private agencies.
